Day 1 – Arrive into Kota Kinabalu, gateway to the Malaysian state of Sabah and the start of your adventures in Borneo. Overnight at the Shangri-la Rasa Ria, which has its own nature with orang-utan and other wildlife. 

Day 2 - Make an early start this morning for Sandakan to join a small group on our Borneo Wildlife Experience. The first night is spent on Selingan Island where there will be time to swim in the sea or snorkel during the day. In the evening you'll have the opportunity to see scores of wild turtles as they make their way up the beach to lay their eggs. You’ll have the chance to learn about these reptiles and perhaps release some young ones into the sea.

Day 3 - The following day you will return to Sandakan and head to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to learn about these wonderful creatures. After watching them feed you'll journey through the rainforest to Sakau and then travel down river to your lodge right on the water’s edge. In the afternoon head out by boat to spot wildlife; if you’re lucky you’ll see more orang utans in the wild, some rare proboscis monkey and more besides. This leisurely wildlife cruise really gives you a unique insight into this stunning region of Borneo.

Day 4 - Return to the Shangri La Rasa Ria today for a relaxing four night stay beside the beautiful Pantai Dalit Beach. The hotel is set in its own tropical grounds about 30 minutes from Kota Kinabalu.

As well as its nature reserve, there are extensive facilities including a golf course, two pools, a Spa and beauty salon and several restaurants and bars. Take time to enjoy your surroundings in this remote and remarkable tropical land. 

Day 8 – Head home from Borneo or to the next stop on your Asia trip with photos and happy memories of your Borneo adventure.
