Days 1 - Arrive Saigon
On arrival in Saigon, transfer to your hotel. Meet your fellow travellers and tour leader at a tour briefing and welcome drink.

Day 2 - Saigon and Mekong Delta
This morning gain an insight into the resilience of the Vietnamese people as you explore the amazing Cu Chi tunnels. Back in the city, enjoy a tasty lunch and then head to the emotive War Remnants Museum. Walk through the city seeing the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office, before a wander along the city's historic Dong Khoi Street finishing with a drink at a rooftop bar.
The next day, explore the tributaries and narrow canals of the Mekong Delta stopping along the way at a coconut factory and local home to observe traditional weaving methods.

Day 4 - Hue
Fly north to Hue, the former imperial capital and a window into Vietnam's complex past. Visit the elaborate tomb of the former emperor Tu Duc, before moving on to the imposing citadel and Imperial Palace, home to the Nguyen Dynasty who ruled between 1802-1945. From here visit the much revered and tranquil Thien Mu Pagoda, Hues's oldest and most beautiful religious monument situated near the banks of the Perfume River. Finish the day at the Spiral Foundation where you will meet deaf and mute workers who will assist you in making your own souvenir.

Day 5 - Hue - Hoi An
Travel through the spectacular coastal scenery of the Hai Van Pass on your way to Hoi An. A living monument to Vietnam's rich history, this charming town has architecture that reflects the many nations that have traded here over the centuries. After lunch take a guided walking tour to see the old merchant house, Chinese assembly hall and the iconic Japanese covered bridge. Another day in Hoi An gives you further time to explore the shops, market and river life. Alternatively you may like to relax on the nearby beach.

Days 7 - Halong Bay
Fly to Haiphong and then drive to enchanting Halong Bay for an overnight cruise. Considered one of Vietnam's greatest natural wonders, the region boasts thousands of islands that rise out of the water. Enjoy fresh seafood whilst you relax and watch the world go by.
Day 8 - Halong Bay - Hanoi
Disembark after lunch the next day and travel to Hanoi, Vietnam's capital city. Take a walking tour around the atmospheric streets to visit the market and speciality food stores to try some local dishes. On your second day in the city, explore the bustling streets of the Old Quarter on foot where peddlers have plied their trade for centuries. Later, visit many of the popular attractions including the ancient Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and the notorious 'Hanoi Hilton' prison. This evening enjoy a farewell group dinner to recount the highlights over the past ten days.
