Hanoi | Halong Bay | Hue | Hoi An
Combine the colonial city of Hanoi with the ancient lime stone cliffs of Halong Bay and top that off with a journey through the historic capital of Hue and UNESCO town of Hoi An to give you an insight in to Vietnam's rich heritage.
Day 1 - Hanoi
On arrival in Hanoi you will be met and transferred in to the city for a two night stay at the stylish and modern Silk Path Hotel which is located just a few minutes walk from the fascinating maze of streets in old Hanoi. It's a great location for exploring and admiring the fine old villas in the French Quarter or taking a stroll by the tranquil waters of Hoan Kiem Lake in the city centre.
Day 3 - Halong Bay
Have a good breakfast before heading off on the journey to Halong Bay where you will spend the night on a traditional Chinese Junk. During your cruise you will be able to see the huge limestone rocks which rise up out of the water and give the bay such an unusual appearance. You'll have time to swim, snorkel or kayak in the tranquil waters before heading back to the boat for sunset and dinner.
Day 4 - Halong Bay and
Wake up early to see the sun rise and listen to the sounds of the waves gently lapping. The area is quite mystical in the early mornings as the rocks are often topped by mist and the early start is well worth it. There will be time for swimming or kayaking this morning before brunch and your return to Halong City where you disembark and travel back to Hanoi airport for your flight to Hue.
On arrival in Hue you will be picked up and taken to the Pilgrimage Village for a two night stay. You can spend your time here sightseeing around the historic capital on a bicycle, cruising down the perfume river or visiting the Imperial Citadel, the centre piece of the royal empire which was damaged throughout the Vietnam War.
Day 6 - Hoi An
Today you will travel over the famous Hai Van Pass on your way to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An where you will be staying for five night at the delightfully colonial feeling Victoria Hotel. The resort lies around 3 km outside of the main town and provides both a beautiful beachside location and easy access to the shops, restaurants and bars of Hoi An, it's the perfect location for a mix of sightseeing and some rest & relaxation at the end of a wonderful journey.
Day 11 - Farewell
Enjoy your last glimpses of the regions beautiful scenery as you head back along the coast to Danang airport to catch your flight back to the UK.
