Day 1 - Bangkok
Begin your holiday with a three night stay at Bangkok's Furama Hotel on bustling Silom Road. Well placed in the city, the Furama is the perfect place to begin exploring one of Asia's most exciting and fast paced cities. If it's opportunities for shopping and entertainment you're looking for, or just a nice leisurely relax by the roof top pool, the Furama Silom caters for all tastes.
Day 4 - Train to Chiang Mai
Transfer from the Furama Silom to Bangkok's main train station and board the day service train to Chiang Mai. Travelling by rail allows you to sit back and enjoy the scenery and provides an opportunity to mix with the locals.
On arrival into Chiang Mai this evening, you will be met and transferred to the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel. You have the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 5 - Chiang Mai
After breakfast head north to visit the working elephant camp at Mae Saa where you can see how these mighty creatures work and are still very much an essential part of Thai life. Afterwards visit a hill tribe village, and return to Chiang Mai for an afternoon of leisure.
Day 6 - Fly to Luang
Enjoy the morning free before flying to Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. Later you'll join your guide and explore this fascinating city before dinner and a tour of the night market.
Day 7 - Luang
Today you'll visit Wat Xieng Thong, said to be one of the city's most impressive sights, followed by a drive to Tad Kuang Sii Waterfall through the scenic countryside. After lunch visit the village of Ban Phanom famous for its weaving. The afternoon and evening are at leisure.
Day 8 - Luang Prabang area
Head to the morning market and take part in the dawn alms ritual with the monks. After breakfast at a local bakery, take a boat trip along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou caves. Enjoy a Ramayana performance tonight.
Day 9 - Vientiene
Visit the Royal Palace museum and Wat Mai before flying to Vientiane. This afternoon visit the Patouxay Victory Monument, Wat Sisaket, Wat Phra Keo and That Luang, the most revered shrine in Laos.
Day 10 - Farewell
Time to bid farewell to this magical country as you transfer to Vientiane Airport for your flight back to the UK.
