Day 1 - Phnom Penh
Arrive in to Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city. This afternoon you will take in the cities highlights including the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda.
Day 2 - Siem Reap
After breakfast you will travel to the airport for a short flight to Siem Reap. After checking in at your hotel you will travel to Angkor Wat, the largest temple complex in the world. Marvel at the intricate carvings and the sheer scale of the place, which took almost 30 years to build. You can explore with your guide during the afternoon before watching the sunset and returning to your hotel.
Spend the day discovering Angkor Thom, the last capital of the
Khmers. You'll see the elephant terrace and the stunning Bayon
Temple before visiting Preah Khan an extensive monastic complex
covering over 56 hectares.
Day 4 - Siem Reap There's a morning visit to Ta Prohm Temple today, which is undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at Angkor. Having been virtaully swallowed by the jungle the labyrinth of stone hallways is overgrown with roots and massive banyan trees. This afternoon you can visit the citadel of women, one of the jewels in this remarkable city.
Day 5 - Luang Prabang
Enjoy a boat trip on Ton Le Sap lake this morning and see the floating fishing villages. Afterwards travel to the airport for your onward flight to Luang Prabang the former royal capital of Laos.
When you arrive into Luang Prabang you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. Later you'll join your guide and explore this fascinating city before dinner and a tour of the night market.
Today you'll visit Wat Xieng Thong, said to be one of the city's
most impressive sights, followed by a drive to Tad Kuang Sii
Waterfall through the scenic countryside. After lunch visit the
village of Ban Phanom famous for its weaving. The afternoon and
evening are at leisure.
Day 7 - Mekong River
Head to the morning market and take part in the dawn alms ritual with the monks. After breakfast at a local bakery, take a boat trip along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou caves. Enjoy a Ramayana performance tonight.
Day 8 - Vientiane
Visit the Royal Palace museum and Wat Mai before flying to Vientiane. This afternoon visit the Patouxay Victory Monument, Wat Sisaket, Wat Phra Keo and That Luang, the most revered shrine in Laos.
Day 9 - Farewell
Time to bid farewell to Indochina as you head back to the Airport for your scheduled flight back to the UK.
